A film crew is doing a documentary about Ben (Benoit Poelvoorde), an engaging and personable individual who is devoted to his Mother (Jacqueline Poelvoorde-Pappaert) and Grandparents (Nelly and Hector Pappaert). Ben is articulate on a variety of subjects from architecture, philosophy, classical music to murder. It's here where Ben makes his living as a professional killer, but, at times he kills for the pure enjoyment of it. The filming crew consists of the Reporter Remy (Remy Belvaux), the Cameraman Andre (Andre Bonzel) and soundman Patrick (Jean-Marc Chenut) who record Ben’s life including all the graphic details of his profession. At first the film crew is just observing, but, slowly they are drawn into the macabre aspects of Ben’s life that they become accomplices and begin to question the whole project, especially when a rival is killed by Ben.
