Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) is a happily married architect living in New York City, with a daughter. After his wife Joanna Kersey (Hope Lange) and married daughter Carol Toby (Kathleen Toaln) are brutally raped by street punks who obtain their address from the supermarket. After their ordeal, the daughter is left in a catatonic state, and the wife dies in hospital . The police appear unable to solve the crime, so Paul Kersey turns himself into a One Man Crusade against the criminals using a western gunfight show in Arizona as incentive. During his search for his wife’s killers, Kersey comes across other crimes in progress, and gets a kick out of taking out the bad-guys, showing that one man really can make a difference!
